Attention Class of 2009!

It's almost time for school to start! If you're reading this, it probably means you're curious about your 8th grade year. Congratulations on taking the initiative to learn. I love technology and using new technology in teaching, so pay attention to the following announcements:

NEW WEB SITE ADDRESS

My new website is not quite ready, but you can visit it now at http://called2bsaints.com/senger
Be sure to leave a comment to let me know you were there.

BE SURE TO SIGN UP TO OUR CLASS NETWORK
Get a head start on the year by signing up to our collaboration site at http://allsaintsschool.ning.com

Once you've signed up, I'll approve your membership (only students and parents allowed!), and you'll be ready to communicate and collaborate with your classmates. All students are required to be a part of the network, so get a little homework done early and join up now! Parents are free to join, too, so encourage your parents to register.

Over the Rainbow

Anyone who was in my class this year knows that my favorite song of all time is "Over the Rainbow." Watch little Connie sing it on the TV show Britain's Got Talent:

Download My New eBook Today

Here it is, my new eBook, ROMAN Reading: 5 Practical Skills for Transforming Your Life through Literature. One thing I didn't tell you in class today is that the book is dedicated to you, my students. Make sure to take a look at page 2 to see the dedication.

If you like it leave a comment or send me an email. If you don't like it, at least you can delete it :-)

As I said in class today, you should recognize a lot of the content; but hopefully you'll find something new to inspire you to read.

Here's today's homework:

Reading: Read to page 242 in Les Miserables.

Stop-Motion Space Invaders

I hope all of you are enjoying Spring Break. I came across a video yesterday that I thought you might enjoy. It uses stop-motion photography with people in a theater to recreate the classic arcade game Space Invaders. Enjoy!

Hello From the Land of Accreditation

I don't have much time to write this morning. These last couple of days have been very long. St. Aloysius is a great school and I'm glad to be there, but I miss All Saints.

I hope you are understanding more about Valjean and Fantine by reading excerpts from the unabridged Les Miserables, and I hope that your I-Searches are almost done.

I look forward to seeing you all tomorrow. We will practice our stations of the cross and hopefully find the time to see the 7th grade country displays.

Take care!
